My main academic interest is in the field of political parties, with an emphasis on party competition in electoral arena. I analyze this topic from a rational choice perspective, using the classical (spatial) models developed by Anthony Downs, Duncan Black, Peter Ordeshook, or Richard McKelvey. My PhD thesis focuses on the way political parties in Central and Eastern Europe compete in electoral markets and how they adapt their strategies and ideological stances to maximize chances of winning elections.
